Training & lectures
We offer lectures for everyone who in any way works with dysphagia, as well as practical and theoretical training in texture-modified diets.
The goal of the lectures is to increase knowledge and understanding for those affected by dysphagia, and during the training you will gain the necessary knowledge to provide your diners with chewing and swallowing difficulties meals that improve quality of life and ensure patient safety.
We train based on IDDSI, but if this is not yet implemented in your organization, we adapt to the system you use. Depending on prior knowledge and requests, we tailor training specifically for you; whether the need is to provide the entire care chain with a shared knowledge base on texture-modified diets or to refine the preparation of your own timbales.
The training is aimed at those who:
work in kitchens within municipalities, regional authorities, and the private sector
work in healthcare, perhaps as nurses or assistant nurses
are dietitians or speech therapists who often know how to prescribe diets for dysphagia but also need to communicate to the kitchen what this means
To take a comprehensive approach and give the entire care team a shared foundation, it is important that everyone has the same basic knowledge. Our experience shows it is beneficial to have all professional groups represented in the training. This way, the team gains a common understanding of the challenges and what needs to be done so that the diner is not disadvantaged, but receives necessary and correct dietary adaptations. The joint training also opens the door to ongoing dialogue about texture-modified diets and collaborative efforts to develop and improve in the area.
