We work proactively to raise awareness about this vital issue and offer comprehensive solutions that fit any kitchen and can be adapted to the needs and conditions of your operation.

“We have heard many stories where the kitchen has a well-thought-out menu for regular meals, but those eating texture-modified diets receive food blended into an unappetizing brown mush, or only one dish is offered — often in the form of blobs and sticks that neither look appealing nor taste particularly good.

This is not dignified and does not stimulate the appetite of those who often need nutrition the most: our elderly and sick, and those with lifelong needs for texture-modified diets. It’s not about unwillingness to do it right; often it’s a lack of knowledge about the challenges of dysphagia and how to practically prepare food in the consistency prescribed to the diner.”

 

Sustainability project – reducing malnutrition in Sweden

BrandEye runs an extensive sustainability project aimed at reducing malnutrition in Sweden through locally produced timbales that both look and taste like real food. The goals of our timbales are:

  • To help people with dysphagia receive more nutrition, thereby improving their quality of life

  • To reduce food waste within healthcare and care services by ensuring the food is eaten

  • To contribute to a resilient society through local production, locally grown and produced raw materials, and by promoting the use of renewable energy and energy-efficient transport

We provide sustainable products through sustainable production for a sustainable society.
This project is co-funded by the European Union.

Training
Everything starts with knowledge and understanding of what a texture-modified diet means, the different consistencies and viscosities (how thin or thick something is) required for various prescriptions, and how to practically prepare texture-modified meals that are both appealing and meet all the needs of the diner.
